What is a Hydrobath?
A hydrobath is a huge bath specifically built for washing and massaging dogs. It is big enough to hold the biggest breed of dogs and once we begin washing, most dogs just love it. Clean heated water is added to the collection tank and sprayed out from a high pressure shower head. The pressure penetrates through the dog’s coat and onto their skin where most problems occur. Depending on the shampoo used, it helps prevent skin infections and kills fleas and other parasites. A hydrobath with warm water can help prevent arthritis through the massaging effect and will achieve great results in curing skin disorders and promote hair growth. The Country Critters hydrobath is washed and sanitised after each pet wash to avoid infections.
We offer two levels of grooming using a special shampoo of your choice which suits your dog’s coat and skin condition.

1) Mini Groom
First we gently brush your pet to detangle any small knots or tangles, then into the hydrobath for a thorough wash and soothing massage. We then chamois, towel and blow dry your pet using our high velocity drier or hand drier which dries the coat all the way through leaving it soft, shiny and ready to cuddle. To finish off, we brush and scissor tidy up any straggly bits and add a spray of doggy cologne. Your pooch will then receive a tasty home-made treat for being such a good dog! Dogs that will not tolerate the drier will be towel dried as much as possible. Pets that are badly knotted or matted will not be able to be mini groomed as knots do not simply wash out. De-matting takes time so extra charges apply. Sometimes a clip off is simpler, less time consuming and less stressful for the dog. We can discuss the options at the time of consultation.
2) Full Groom
Includes the mini groom plus a full body clip to a length of your choice considering the weather conditions. A clip too short may cause your pet to become too cold in winter and cause sunburn in summer. We have a selection of doggy coats and jumpers for sale to keep them warm if your pooch requires a clip during the colder months. NB- At this time we only do hygiene clips and are not in a position to do breed specific show clips.
What We Charge
Our grooming prices vary according to the breed as all dog breeds are different. Some take a lot more time and attention than others. A price will be advised at the time of booking.
Please note that the more a dog is groomed the easier and quicker each visit will be. We recommend that the owners have their pets booked in every 4 to 6 weeks in order to maintain a healthy, clean unmated coat. If you welcome a new puppy to your home, grooming should start as early as possible. The sooner your pup accepts being brushed, washed and in some breeds clipped, the better. It will make your job as an owner, your dog’s life and the groomer’s life a lot less stressful in the years to come.
General Health Check

While we are grooming your pet we will perform a free general health check. We thoroughly check for any abnormalities or health problems. You will receive a short report describing the condition of your pets skin, body, feet, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, weight and parasite problems (if any). All of which any concerns should be directed to your veterinarian. |
